BRIEF 12 — CHEF'S SECRET WEAPON

The Culinary Plating

$100M TAMUNCLAIMED

THE PROBLEM

“A Michelin-star chef wants to plate dishes as art. Problem: even perfect plating is static. Solution: rear-projected surface in the kitchen where dishes are plated and photographed in front of it. The rear-projection shows the origin of each ingredient in real-time—a farm for the vegetable, a fishery for the protein, a forest for the herb. As the chef plates, the wall tells the story of where it came from. Diners see the plated dish and simultaneously its origin narrative projected behind it. The meal becomes a story told through light and food.”

REVENUE MODEL

$20K–40K per kitchen. Licensing to high-end restaurants.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Rear-projection surface (1.5m × 2m minimum) in kitchen or dining area. Real-time animation and image switching. Material preserving plated food visibility while rear-projection tells origin story. Food photography quality maintained.

MARKET

Michelin-star restaurants, fine dining establishments, culinary schools, luxury hotel restaurants, experiential dining venues.

THE QUESTION

“Can rear-projection tell the story of food? Can light make dining more meaningful?”
