“Architects and designers need to choose from thousands of material options across multiple categories (flooring, cladding, textiles, metals, glass, stone). Problem: managing physical samples is chaotic. Digital renderings don't feel real. Solution: a rear-projected materials library where physical samples (1ft × 1ft) are placed in front of the rear-projection. Each sample is automatically recognized (via RFID or imaging). The rear-projection shows that material in 10 different architectural contexts simultaneously. The designer sees their material option in a kitchen, a bedroom, a facade, a corridor.
