Veil Wall
An entire wall becomes atmosphere
A single, seamless cylindrical field of light, concealed behind no visual language except its own generous curve.
A wash of drifting, atmospheric content becomes the room's emotional centre.

Visual state
Atmosphere
Blue water and silver light drifting across the curve.
01 / Geometry
Measured, not asserted.
The reference geometry behind the form. Preliminary design envelopes, written so an engineer can disagree with them.
01
Projected chord 2,400 mm × 1,800 mm high; cylindrical plan radius ≈ 3,000 mm.
02
Sagitta = R − √(R² − 1,200²) ≈ 250.5 mm; arc angle 2·asin(1,200/3,000) ≈ 47.2°.
03
Developed arc width ≈ 2,469 mm excluding clamps — not a cut dimension; edge encapsulation and allowances follow testing.
04
A cylinder is developable: a rolled flat-coated carrier curves without the stretching a saddle or bowl would demand.
02 / Fabrication
Continuous tensioned skin
Preferred V1 rolled-skin demonstration (Prototype P-01). Curved top and bottom guides, two edge rails, hidden keyed splices, rear adjustable frame against twist, bead-capture perimeter. Measure — do not assert — edge-to-edge brightness and sharpness.
03 / Three states
Dark, lit, alive.
The same object, three ways. The form must earn its place before any projector is switched on.

Dormant
A gently curved pale wall — material, not screen.

Luminous
Blue water and silver light drifting across the curve.

Living
Slow atmospheric currents; the room's emotional centre.
04 / Where it belongs
Gallery · flagship · civic hall
The primary large architectural hero: a whole wall that is an artwork when dark and an atmosphere when lit. It carries a room the way a window carries weather.
Studio settings that suit it

Veil Wall is an original, unbuilt concept study. Every image on this page is a visualization with CSS light treatments, not a photograph of a finished work; the geometry is a design-development starting point and nothing here is a certified production specification or a photometric claim.
